Meet Janine Lafiteau!

Owner/Art Director of Creative Me! Art Studio

My name is Janine Lafiteau. I am originally from New York, but consider myself a Floridian,
since I lived in South Florida since the age of six. Throughout my childhood, my love of the arts grew, earning many prestigious awards and having my art work in many art shows. During high school, I worked part-time as an Art teacher for a child enrichment center. I attended Florida Atlantic University, where I earned my Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education with a minor in Art. In 1997, I began my career in the public school system. I have taught all grade levels, K-5th for 12 years and Elementary Art for 14 years. I’ve worked in the Arts and with children for 26 years! My proudest career achievement was in 2005 when I earned the Teacher of the Year Award.  As my teaching career started to take off, I married my husband, Ted and we traveled the world for five years. Then we decided to have our two children, James and Kathryn, who are now young adults, and pop in to visit once in a while. I have always wanted to have my very own art studio so I can share my passion and talent with children and adults of all ages.

In 2016, my husband and I started up our own business, which we named Creative Me Art Studio. Mr. Ted, my wonderful partner, behind the front desk, has helped me make my dream into reality and couldn’t have done this without him.

We are so happy to have you join our adventure! Welcome to the studio!

Meet Ted Lafiteau!

Owner/Administrator of Creative Me! Art Studio

My name is Ted Lafiteau. I am originally from Long Island, New York, but moved to Ft. Lauderdale when I was a teenager and finished up high school there. I spent my summers working with elementary aged children as a camp counselor. Following high school, I moved back to New York to attend St. John’s University where I received my Bachelor’s degree in Communication with minors in Advertising and Business. I grew tired of the cold weather, and decided to continue my education at Nova Southeastern University earning my MBA.  From 1998 through 2015 I was employed as a Lead Business Analyst for American Express Technologies.

Wanting more than the everyday life in a cubicle, I decided to support my wife’s passion for the Arts and put my business and management skills to work at Creative Me! Art Studio.
